'God always intervened'

Poem Artwork

Gazed intently at the wideband flight

Enhanced my inner acrophobia fear

Layer after layer of stacked concrete

having a spiral rotational axis made

me sweat.

At the bottom layer, a series of

railings began - concentrically

placed inside a larger ring; whereas

at the top layer, it was a stairway

to heaven.

Then realized that I would have

to overcome my fear of heights

in order to speak to God, since

my prayers were also heard by

the Devil.

Including the ones where I asked

for forgiveness for all my sins

Those were the ones that Satan

paid particular attention to - made

him worry.

Knowing this, I repented all my

imprudent acts; Beelzebub still

tried to coax me over to his

dark side; had his book called

the Ten Un-Commandments.

He promised me heaven and

earth, so long as I sold him my

soul - but God always intervened

Would take my hand and give

me guidance.

And then my acrophobia went

away; wished it on the Devil

Kept him away from the Stairway

to Heaven - made it easier to climb

the stairs.

I enjoyed the whole concept of this read
"Then realized that I would have

the Devil."

the work of the enemy is forever present, I love how you worded this!

A great poem that fulls the visual imagination. It gives me a visual image of a narrow staircase that we travel on every day. The devil is present, awaiting for us to trip and fall. God provides us with a railing to hold on to, a security railing. If we let go, we may loose our balance in life. We can slip and continue climbing. This happens often. What we don't want is to fall off the stairs into the pit of demonic fire. God save us!
Amen!

Lance,
This is one of your best writes, and everyone can identify with this poem. Satan is trying to keep us all from the stair way of Heaven. He'll do anything to get us over to his side. God always intervenes, He's always there to steer us up those stairs and keep us focused on Him. Lance, this is superb! This goes in my library!

Blessings and Huggggs,
~Linda

Heh Heh!! Made me smile. We need to accommodate both the light and the dark, forgive both as they forgive us!

Lance this was so inticing for I could see the stairway and felt your fear until HE took you by the hand and led you to it. This was absolutely beautiful and so much of your heart is seen through it. Love and hugs, Bonnie

Oh, I love this, Lance: turned around and gave the Devil the fear that was his in the first place. FANTASTIC! Much wisdom and Grace in this poem: well done. A keeper, for sure!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
