Sadly, they are a part of today's society. "Snowmen" is symbolic.
Snowmen
Wearing dark glasses They hide their empty eyes They lurk among shadows In a forest of city structures These soulless beings Feed on their own illusions In evil darkness Sell death in substances Buy the souls of children They have no conscience And no matter how warm the sun These snowmen will not melt
Regis,
An excellent metaphor for these scum who sell to kids. They also destroy many lives when they enable an adult's addiction. A current topic with a powerful delivery. Love and Hugs,
Sheila
Powerfully terrifying write Regis. If "Think Small, Dream Tall" should be posted in every child's room, this should be plastered on the wall of every middleschool, highschool, college, and university in America. You've created a very powerful work with this one my friend.
Thank you for posting this poem, exposting those evil agents of "snow."

Very powerful message. The cold, dark truth so vividly expressed. If only they could melt like they melt the very souls of the youth of our society. Thanks for sharing. Blessings to you.
This is a tragic realistic write. Yes, there are many snowmen who eats up children and spit out their bones. So sad indeed!

Words and picture are a perfect definition and evocative character-study. Chilling as your subject, Regis, and imbues the soul with a shadow of the darkness that you speak about. Perhaps we should stuff a few holes in the ozone with them?! Another piquant podcast this week - your voice and words make music, Reg. TY LOL Kate xx
Ah drugs, can't live with them, can only die from them, children are too young to try them, hell I am 51 & I am too young to try them...make them legal, is that the answer...? Will it make it worse or better, I haven't a clue...scary write, Regis, but one needing to be said in the horrific way it was said...Find Peace, Ed & Rufuz
This sort of gives new meaning to the term blinded by the snow. Maybe in a thousand years we will be so advanced, so secure, so perfect, that we won't need to escape into a puff of snow. ~ Sara
...and they will most likely never go away. I have always felt that if the government would register drug addicts and provide them with their drug, administered at the government facility, that we might be able to stop the drug-dealing subculture. Profound and powerful, this poem hits home, Regis

Well put and vivid. You can tell a lot about aculture about how it treats its poor, children, and elderly. The good ole USA (and other industrialized cultures) ain't doin' too well Connie
Regis you have described it flawlessly, this nightmare that our youth are victims of.It's so frustrating that we seem helpless to do anything about it. Our culture must pay the consequence. Thank you for sharing!
unfortunately, "snowmen" have sold their soul..if they ever had one. "snowmen" would like nuthin' better than to have others join their hell. pity them, HELL is all they know... guess it must be their HEAVEN... or maybe just a haven from the dark REALITY of learning to be.

Eric Clapton's Cocaine comes to mind here. Snowmen hiding behind dark, evil glasses selling white, cut substance, nose candy that snorts on high. Good take on this, Regis!

Appropriate title. Shine enough light on these creeps and they will melt and those which do not put in a dark, dank cell until they quit breathing.
One of the plagues of the 20th and current centuries, contributing to the breakdown of families and culture. This write haunts us with
lurking demons and its brevity only adds to the impact on the reader.
