Some people say that I have an "obsessive" personality. I wish they could see into my soul; that would shut them up pretty quickly; of that I am certain.
Glade Spell
Not long ago I chose to leave The well-worn expected lane On this new path I found myself In deep dark unknown forest I found the shadows almost stifling And for awhile I flirted with claustrophobia Until one night that turned to day I unexpectedly came upon A golden glade in blessed sunlight In the midst of which there stood A wondrous angelic flower She nodded Beckoning In fragrant forest breeze In awe and completely taken I took a single tiny petal Now honey hair Emerald eyes And sweet enchanting scent The spell is cast I am a willing prisoner
A WELL WRITTEN WORK...GREAT IMAGERY. THANKS FOR SHARING AND BLESSINGS, LOVE, JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Yes...um...you are caught! I am caught! I love how this is magical, and romantic--it caught me drooling for the angelica flower! It is an arousing writing, Regis. The way you forged this is excellent! Thank you.
Poets are known for leaving the well-worn paths, Regis, and when they do, usually wondrous things happen, such as your enchanting glade. Consider Frost and one of my life-long favorites - The Road Not Taken. I love this soft and soul-bearing write. May I join you there?
Led me through the magic, drawn by your words, loved it! Sandi

"...I wish they could see into my soul..."
Regis, creative people (writers artists photographers musicians etc.) are known for opening their souls through their art for the wide world to see. People who just slap one-word labels on others are basically too lazy to look any deeper to gain a better understanding. Wonderful complex things are there for us to see (Like your poems!) if we just pay attention.
By the way, you are a brave soul to have "flirted with claustrophobia" (love that line!).
The words and message are lovely but for a little constructive criticism -- why no punctuation? Unless you are going for that sort of "run on" feeling -- which does seem tow ith the words pouring out their "spell."
Do you know "Ma Liberte" by Georges Moustaki? It has a beautiful ending like this. It says "I have given up my freedom for the sake of a beautiful prison guard". I'm pleasantly reminded of it by your poem, which also brings to mind motives of Irish poetry.
What views others often cast towards us is mearly a reflection of their inner selves. Never worry about what others think, but think about your worries. One excellant pen.
I like this "obsession" with spirituality, Regis... you sound just like me! Feathers, oak leaves and now shells... these are the motifs and "things that live and breathe and speak" in concepts and in deeper spritual truths of "awakenings" that have become the collections of fabric from my everyday life. We can personify them or attach personal signficance to them at will. And your lovely poem says this with far more grace and specificity than I have managed here. But "I dig", Babe! TY K xx

I apologize for not reviewing your beautiful works; I fell down a series of steps, graceful me;-)
Enchanting work, Regis. Full of the magic and trepidations of being creative (eccentric, some might venture to call us)...taking hold of the magic of being and letting it fill our lives...our souls...really, really liked this. (and the pic...I "borrowed" it for my personal pics).
Always all good things to you and yours,

This is an excellent journey into an unknown forest. I see so many elements in this poem with which I can indentify so well. I've never happened upon a "Golden Glade" such as this, but I'm glad I found yours! Outstanding!

Your soul is in a peaceful environment, Regis...you know yourself to be a communicator of intense emotions. The magnitude of nature's capacity to stay when others tell us to evacuate describes Glade Spell perfectly...be well, Regis
Oooh...this is stunning! A mystical write that captured my attention and I must say...Lucky lady! You are a true romantic my friend as well as a wonderful poet. I loved this one!

I am curious. Who is this angelic flower? It made me immediately think of my wife. Was it yours? A beautiful write and very full melody.

There is a fine line between madness and genius and I believe there is a similar line between obsession and passion. Don't listen to what other's say. This poem is romantically elegant and so reverant and gentle in your feelings. I love it!

Very beautiful, Regis. You can take the reader to mystical times and I was almost in Middle Earth reading this. Best wishes. kenny

Sensitivity, passion, creativity, compassion, ...just some of the descriptions I would put down as characteristics of Regis based upon all I read - all wonderful qualities. 'Obsessive' never sprang to mind and still doesn't. Beautiful imagery in this verse and a lovely graphic to complement. Amour et paix toujours, Regis. Panda :)
This is beautifully written as is allyour work Regis. I think someties sensitive souls are misunderstood. Especially by non poetic personalities who can't see between the spaces. We have to make allowances for their lack of insight, and not let it affect our sensibility. ...
