Louisa's comment (below) is correct. This is dedicated to someone who is very unique.
I Wonder...
I wonder…
Do you still wear your honey hair
In a perky pony tail?
Do your emerald eyes still sparkle
When you smile?
Do you still smell like the air
After a summer rain?
Do you still sing
With the voice of an angel?
Does your laughter still sound
Like a brook giddy with melting snow?
Do you still play the piano,
The guitar?
Do you still make your special soup
And take some to your grandma?
Are you still prone to quick anger
Like a sudden summer storm
Yet as swift to offer the reconciliation
Of a rainbow?
Are you still gentle of heart
Abounding in hopes and dreams?
Do you still remember me
As I do you?
I wonder…
A most poignant write about the way remember our friends/girlfriends. Little things can make so much difference in the way we look at life or people. Your pen brings life to this.
Beautiful photo of the girl in your thoughts while writing this. Questioning it too her love for you. I am sure she never forgot you either. Keeping this short, as good therapy and reading your poems is just that. Thanks for sharing your heartfelt thoughts too.

how very loving...the words speak.beautiful write.
Very nicely written and spoken. There are many times when I think of those who have touched my heart along the way...and secretly hope that during the years, they've kept the small things about them that I like so much. What a wonderful romantic style of words to take one back down memory lane.
How could she n o t-?!! Not only write like an angel, you. . .be arrogant to say I know how an angel thinks, but tu,[if I may be so bold as to use the term], mon ami, remind that when we love -- truly
love -- there is one right over our shoulder, helping us compose.
Let's say, an ode that makes a beloved girl with a pony tail, honey hair, and a laugh "a brook giddy with melting snow" {:)} come alive
for those lucky enough to come upon her, merci a Messieur Auffray.

It is nice when we can remember the good in others that we miss so much. When people come into our lives, and make a difference, then we remember them for always, even though they have gone on to bigger and maybe better things. This is a very nice tribute to the someone special that you miss in your heart.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and this poem proves the adage to be true, for there's a good chance no one else ever looked at this lady just the way you did, Regis. You have a wonderful, gentle, sensitive air about you, and this write shows that perfectly.
Hi Reg, it's great to be back in AD and read all of the beautiful poems esp. those written by you. This piece is sweetly nostalgic, with a hint of secret longing...a beautiful remembering. Can relate 100%! Thanks for sharing it.

Hi Regis,
I love the simile "Like a brook giddy with melting snow". This offering shows a strong marriage between nature and someone's characteristics. Beautifully done~
Sheila
Such a beautiful and touching piece. I bet you she does remember you still. Sometimes we feel like we are the only ones who do but trust me they remember us more than we can ever imagine, who wouldn't remember a love so tender?
A nice poetic reminiscent query about someone you once knew. Like you, I often think of someone out of my past and wonder... The picture really complements the poem.
Unique as the heart whose fabric bears the imprint of the beauty of these moments of capture that you articulate here, Regis. You are mutually special. The feelings shared sound very much to me as if the very same pictures are logged and stored by both souls, each viewing the other. Don't know why I feel this, but the image I am getting is of one photograph, whose images reverse one out of the other, like a black and white negative. Very lovely and very cinematic. That frisson of electrical charge between two people that can be nothing more than a neural impulse, caught on a breeze. Intimate and tender. Bless you always, Kate xx

I see you remember some women the way I do- one in particular I recall falling in love with when I was 14. To this day I wonder about her still
Yes, she remembers you, too-it seems you have never forgotten the things about her that as women, we love men to remember, too. I like how you posed it as questions. Great as always, Regis
Although I know you didn't write it for this reason: this poem could make a ton of money published in a major magazine like Reader's Digest. It is the stuff most people crave - and it hits the mainstream heart - no fringe perceptions here. YET, you've done artistically better and on a higher plane than many poets who sell this stuff by the bookful in Barnes & Noble. Your metaphors and comarisons alone are of a higher order.
Too bad I never had a girl-friend like that in H.S. I would've married her!
Hello Regis, :)
This is a beautiful memory detailed by your lovingness!
I would attest that memory's are shared through time, perhaps at the same sunset/sunrise in reflection of each other, or perhaps just a fleeting thought at different times all together. People jump around in my mind all the time just out of nowhere (or so it seems)

Sometimes when we think that a door has closed for us, we find that we left it slightly ajar so that the memories would never fade, and we wonder. Nice work, Regis.
Take care,
Sherry
Ahhh...how well I know these feelings. Sadly, the other person never answers to such questions. They don't mind you asking, they don't mind the never ending attention. But don't expect to get any back. If you do though, well then, you will know true love. ~ Sara
I suppose thats why they first invented phones Mr. Regis but then again us poets do tend to wonder a lot, this is a wonderful wondering write Regis very sweet Seed4ever
This is beautiful and I often wonder does people from my past remember me and if so, how? Thank you Regis for sharing anmd I do hope sghe remembers you.
Maybe she does...maybe she don't, but not today, because today is "Women's Day" and here they come like steam roarollers with PMS.
Be happy that you got some gooooood thoughts left.
Nicely worded and expressed feeling of something I think we all can relate to...that special someone that time has put behind us. Really like the way you have captured the bitter-sweet feel of these emotions.
All good things to you, Reg,
Jim
An old flame, an old love. Years later, now fondly, tenderly recalled. Does the flame that flickered for us, within her, still reside. Or is this lost love for which my memory cried. This is warm, fuzzy stuff Reg. Very creative. Jon Michael Willey
Looking back, thinking what was, what could have been. Something I guess we all do, but usually left to wonder because answers never come. For you, your memories are very clear, hold them close and savor them always....
Beautiful musings your mind and pen has, Reg. You've expressed fond memories in an enchanting poem. Why don't you venture a call, and get the answers? :o)
Regis,
Through your words, you have let us see this special individual's heart. This world needs more people like this caring soul. You're a kind heart, yourself, to share such words of beauty.
Absolutely marvelous work. We all wonder from time to time about past friends, relatives we've not seen in years, those we once loved. Sometimes we're tempted to look them up but time has changed them and our dreams/memories no longer apply.
