Sharing a letter

This email came to me, hitting very close to home with someone I've always seen as a champion and a mentor for all people. So as we near the end of the month designated to commemorate and honor Black Historian men and women, this letter definitely spoke to my soul.
I pray it speaks to yours as well.

MY REPLY:
My husband has the same cancer RAH. Check my blog and

I know what this does to a strong black man's spirit.
It ain't pretty. But it is beatable. Medical science
wants to keep alternative healing mum. It's knowledge
that arms us, and blacks need to do more prevention.
My health education background "nags" my spouse
because I can't stand to see him ignorant of
mind/body/spirit healing combinations. And
racism/discrimination has, over the years, had a
numbing effect on our ability to recognize stress
related disease.
Cancer is definitely stress related in more ways than
one!
My husband and I are doing everything we can,
including going to Indiana U. Med Center for
consultation. There are some things in therapy that
aren't suited for everyone. IU Med realizes this. It's
the main reason we are avoiding Ball Memorial Hospital
like the plague with the things we found out, and
their cut/radiate/ attitude as opposed to the whole
healing nutritional and medical, body mind spirit
combination.
We will lift Bro. Ben up in prayer as well. Sending
this to an internet station in Atlanta and to a
magazine publisher I know personally, so they can get
the word out also, perhaps maybe even do a health
awareness segments about why women tend to be more
concerned about health care than men. Women just seem
to live longer and get checkups sooner.
Ironic that this should happen to Dr. Carson, but not
improbable. This disease is the scourge of black males
in America for lack of knowledge.
