Politics....Politics...No More Nasty Ads... 11/8/2006 12:25:39 PM
Usually political ads do not catch my attention. The elections held yesterday will stay with me for quite a while.They were by far, the nastiest ads in a very long time. Thank goodness that Election Day is over. Well, maybe for some who demand a recount of votes it isn't To people like me, who were constantly bombarded with phone calls, running candidates ringing their doorbells at all hours to introduce themselves, and making sure I remembered to come out and vote for them, etc.
I was getting so sick of watching the various back stabbing, mud-slinging, character assasinating ads that it got to the point when a campaign ad came on I flicked them off with my remote. I sure did a lot of flicking, believe me. Especially when I recorded the TV shows for later viewing, and was continually fast forwarding not only the commercials, but the political ads.
To some, the outcome of the elections was hoped for, and worked on for a long time. Will the results and changes made by voters who wanted a change and new directions in their government pan out? Only time will tell, and it has been a long time coming.
Another surprise happening, but also long-time coming, is
Donald Rumsfield stepping down..Will reserve my opinion on this until I see it really happen. Which will be on the Keith Olberman show tonight. Rummy, you got us in a mell of a hess..hope your successor Mr.Gates, who I hear is going to be taking over, and trying to right your wrongs, which I hope someday you will have to answer for.
In with the new faces and ideas, out with the old who have
not done what they had promised to do over and over again.
It is said that change is good..we will all see, won't we..PLEASE, all you new-faced, bringing new ideas, and maybe breathing new life into our government-types, we are giving you your chance for change...we will believe you one time and if you do not pan out, well...to be continued...
