US Congress Is Bogged Down 1/18/2015 7:48:24 AM
Have you noticed what's up for a vote in Congress/Senate in this session? Most bills up for vote are not essential to the wellbeing of the middleclass. Is Congress doing business for the MIDDLE CLASS and POOR people or are their priorities foremost in assisting the likes of BIG BUSINESS, WALL STREET, BIG OIL and PHARMACEUTICALS?
Their voting priorities during this session, so far:
1) The Keystone Pipeline; Allowing Canada to transport dirty oil through a pipeline over a key U.S. underground water source. The premise is that it will create jobs. Most likely a few jobs initially, but very few will be sustained after the Keystone is complete. WHY is this a priority above that of a real JOBS BILL vote that could if enacted to provide many jobs across America.
2)What happened to legislation that would improve our INFRASTRUCTURE Especially roads and bridges? Not a priority for Congress?
3) Why is Congress voting to deregulate the banks and diminish the Dodd/Frank Bill in an agenda ahead of say an IMIGRATION Bill?
4)What ever happened to legislation that would increase the MINIMUM WAGE to a reasonable rate?
5)Doing something about College Tuition interest rates seem to be a low priority for Congress. In fact the government is taking a profit from student loan payments right out of the pockets of struggling college students.
6) A near future priority for the Congress will be to decrease Social Security/Medicare or privatize it.
8) Kill Affordable Care instead of fixing it.
9) How about legislation to counter the real threat to our grandchildren relative to Climate Change issues? How about a vote to promote wind, solar and water power?
10)The Congressional agenda priority now is to go deep down into regulations impacting BIG Business and remove those that protect people from harm,such as those that govern building natural gas pipeline and industries that pollute the atmosphere.
The above are some examples...There's more.
IS the Congress and Senate of our United States prioritizing their legislation agenda for the good of the people or are they voting for their special interests like Banks, Wall Street, Big Oil and Big Business as pressured by the lobbyists of those greedy entities?
Further, is the Republican voting agenda still predicated on a dislike of the sitting president instead of what's good for the country? What do you think?
