The vote on minimum wage will come up in the Congress soon.
Right now it's proposed at $10.10 an hour.
Some misconceptions are bantered about by the conservative wing relative to dire economic impact.
Let's take a look at some facts about minimum wage impact on the economy.
First off any so called impact by those naysayers makes a broad sweep across labor demographics Fact is any increase to $10.10 an hour will only impact a small percentage of employers who now pay their workers below $10.10 an hour.
Those employers are the FAST FOOD FRANCHISES, like McDonalds; RETAIL OUTLETS like Walmart and some AGRICULTURAL Workers.
The teachers, Cops, firemen, medical workers; Automotive workers; Oil workers; Government Workers, Aerospace workers; Restaurant workers (tips); Medicine manufactures  and all Union workers etc. make up the majority of the United States work force are not below minimum wage. They are NOT impacted. They all make at least 2 x the proposed minimum wage of $10.10.
There's another argument from the conservative factions on SMALL BUSINESS impact. Every small business I know of with 10 to 100 workers take care of them by providing their workers with wages above $10.10 an hour now. They want a happy/ productive labor force and they pay well to retain those workers.
So the work force impacted by wages lower than $10.10 an hour is a small part of the country's work force. They are the FAST FOOD Franchises and the RETAIL outlets that are underpaying workers.
Those workers should be awarded a wage of at least $10.10 an hour.
Perhaps one of the the positive fall outs of minimum wage increase could be government savings on food stamps and other so called government welfare expenses.

The lobbyists for McDonalds and the retail outfits, like Walmart are beating their drums at congressional conservatives...maintaining that their bottom line will be impacted by that hike in Minimum wage. Balderdash...lets see the math that supports their bottom line impact postulation coming forth from FAST FOOD and RETAIL companies who employ under 10% of those underpaid in the United States work force. So that's the size of the inequity...a relatively small group of American workers are below the $10.10 minimum wage that's now proposed.   
Congress you must pass a law that will raise the minimum wage...It's the right thing to do.
