The Difference Between Being Religious and Being Christian 1/14/2009 11:42:40 AM
This should get some people having some great conversations. :) This title poses an intriguing question. But the answer is not as complicated as most might think. It is the belief of many that Christianity is a religion. This is not so. Being Christian means to have a "relationship with Christ Jesus, the son of God". In this relationship one strives to be the best that they can be. They strive to achieve the things in life that God created them to have, to be what they were created to be. While acquiring this lifestyle that is their birth right Christians actively seek God through prayer and faith.
Religion is, in my humble opinion, a harsh word. Religion to me sounds constricting. It is the term that makes me think of rules. Most religions expect you to do certain things. They expect you to not do certain things. Most religions will have you believe that the way to Heaven is by works, not just by believing in Jesus.
