Mom , God Will Provide 7/27/2010 4:59:21 AM
I talked with our daughter last night for about an hour and a half to find out what she was going to do with her life. I think July 14th was her last day at work, because they didn't sign the contract where she works and moved the business to Texas. She had been there a little over two years. Last week she was on a mission trip with some of the people from her church.
She has wanted to go to college, but just couldn't afford it and really did not have time with her job. Now she does not have a job. Here is her plan as I understand it. I cannot wait to tell my husband this,that should really set vacation off to a great start at 3:00 today.
This is just like it was when God called her to Oklahoma. She almost had her deposit on her apartment down before I knew what was happening. She has been checking out college and filled out a fafsa sheet. Alot of people had told her it would almost be free for her in her situation to go. Well she heard from the school and it will cost her $3000 for the first semester. So she has decided to take out a school loan from the school and buy $500 worth of books for her school, and today she is going to go look at a mac computer with a friend. She found this computer on Craig's List and has talked this guy down to $525 for it. He just bought it this year for his school. She is a real go getter. I asked her if she was going to get a job now, she has one application out. She said she would if she really felt like God wanted her to do that right now, but she said they learned last week at camp to Wait On The Lord!! I said, "Oh Kara". She said mom you are not trusting in God. "Oh yes I am", I told her or you would hear me scream clear from where you are, and so would all of you reading this. I said, " You do not know what it is like to be a mother with your child, you say 2 states away, but I think it is more than that. She says,
" Come on mom you know that I can go and get a job in a day if I want to".
She can I have seen her do it. They were having trouble with the air conditioning where she was working and it was really hot outside that summer. My husband took me out for my birthday with the kids. I was looking around in there and I told her she should apply for a job there. When we got ready to leave she asked the manager while he was checking us out if they had any openings there for servers. He said not now, looked up and then asked what she was looking for. She had a job there before the week was up.
Our daughter is pretty, cute, smart, a really hard worker, she is easy to get along with, and everybody loves her. She said she just didn't feel like God wanted her to do that right yet. God didn't bring me out here and put me in this church where He did if He did not intend to take care of me. Believe you me I do trust God with her or I would be a wreak. She is right, it is just a little harder when it is your only daughter in another state and the baby too. She said it was not like she just didn't want a job. So as we venture off this afternoon to the lake we WAIT to see what God has in store for our little one. Oh and by the way school starts August 12th. There is nothing like waiting until very end.
When she had decided to move to Oklahoma people would say how are you getting there and we would just smile and say we do not know yet. My husband is a schoolbus mechanic, and could not get away at that time in Jan., besides we figured if God wanted her out there He would provide a way. On Christmas Day my brother offered to take her out.
I have been telling her that she needed a full time job to get her insurance that she needs. She said, "I know mom that is what you tell me". Which translates to, I know that is what you would do, but I may not do it like you would. I aked her last night about insurance and she said, I could listen to what you have told me or I could just depend on God to keep me safe. I said, " You are not going to get insurance are you", and she said no. "This is only temporary mom", she says. Her friends from church said that they would not let her starve which makes me feel so good that God has put her in such a good place.
While all this is going on we have our younger son that lives with us running away from God. He is rebelling like crazy. He is letting his hair grow long which being a hairdresser is really hard to watch. It is curly and everywhere. He is a good looking kid, but he is ruining his looks at the present time. I have to trust him to God too though. We used to fight about anything that had to do with God. Now we are at a little better place he does not get like an angry bull now at least. We have a long way to go though. I told him Sunday as his mother it was my right to tell him the truth even though he did not want to hear it. He said, "Well as your son I have the right not to listen". I just laughed, and will continue to trust God for the answer in His time. If anybody feels like it our family could really use some prayer for guidance!! As for now we will put our little hands in His and trust Him
