My first Thanksgiving 11/24/2006 5:10:24 PM
Thanksgiving is not a day that I've ever celebrated. I am an exceedingly grateful person and give thanks daily for my blessings but this year I spent thanksgiving in America for the first time and enjoyed an incredible traditional dinner prepared by the exceedingly talented man in my life. He slaved in the kitchen all day but the results were well worth it. Just before he served dinner, I spent some time outside looking up at a beautiful sky painted with pastel splashes of lavender and blue and I whispered a prayer of thanks. I thought about my children so far away and of how much my life has changed in the last year. It's been hard but it's also been rewarding. How much easier it is to groan and grumble about the challenges we face but when we focus on all that is positive, our lives become a reflection of that.
I hope that all AD members who do celebrate this day, had a very happy Thanksgiving. God bless you and yours...
