Poo! I just typed my whole blog on the wrong page and lost it all.
Anyway, here goes again. I arrived back last night an hour later than I should have. All the trains around Birmingham were delayed - HEAT affecting the signals!! I just made my connection at Bham as that was delayed too, but we just got later and later and so I had to wait for an hour in Carlisle. I went and sat at a pavement cafe and watched the girls going out for Saturday night! There were some awsome sights - skirts so short you could almost see the back of their neck - and some of them quite hefty too!
Back here at Low Arvie, all is well. Just been out to see the Ladies. Beauty is on heat, so I've phoned the AI man. Then Richard came in and said he thinks that Mandy is on heat too. She is a new cow to us, she was somebody's pet and they have emigrated, so we have taken her and her calf. Mandy is a Simmental cross, coffee coloured and fourteen years old. Marge's father is a Beltie, so Marge is really beautiful, coffee coloured front and rear portions and a white belt. Both she and her mother have a white star blaze on their foreheads.
The geese were all (4) on the pond this morning, so I begin to hope they really are nesting on LA.
Also the house martins are back. Last year they nested in the window embrasure of the bedroom and just as the babies were about to leave the nest, we had a storm one night and they all got washed away, so I am trying to persude them to find somewhere a bit more sheltered.
I have moved my reviews to an article so that I can continue with my blog - getting quite a few readers now!
