HI again,
Well, your silence has been deafening - no responses to my plea for contacts, but never mind, things have been moving on The Ladies of Low Arvie front.
I have been receiving some wonderful feedback on my other websites and have posted some of them on here, so I'm very pleased that people are beginning to enjoy our story and our video.
It's still raining here in Galloway. That's the trouble, we have long dry spells and people start worrying about the drains and ditches drying up and having to carry water in bowsers to the cattle, then the next thing you know it's the opposite and people are complaining that they can't get the silage done for the rain. Feast or famine!!
Still, we feel pretty smug that we did our first cut before the July rains came - I can't understand how we have sussed out the Galloway weather in eight years of habitation here and farmers who have lived here all their lives are still insisting on cutting in July!! Doesn't seem to make any sense, does it?
We have no B&B bookings at all at the moment, we don't do any advertising except the website and we probably get about eight lots of people a year, which is fine as it's very hard work, but so nice to meet people, so swings and roudabouts on that one!
No news cow-wise at the moment. Holly and Zack are growing apace and the other cows are still Ladies-in-waiting. I have persuaded Richard that Beauty deserves another turn with the bull, though, and she will not be going anywhere for the forseeable - heart ruling head again, we'll never be rich!!!
