One night at the office. I was working one night, and a guy comes in to our facility and he had this amazing aurora of excitement about him. He gushed out, “Oh my God- there is this bright red Lamborghini out in the parking lot- you have got to see this.”
I probably shouldn’t even confess how out of the loop I am on this.
His impressive demeanor is not rubbing off on me. I’m just thinking, “Well- it’s a car. Right?”
But this guy looked like he was touched by God or something, and since there was a light work load I figured, “Alright- I’ll go check this out.”
Again- I am so out of the loop I actually had the thought- I hope I recognize it. There may be a few red cars. (Yes- this is embarrassing.)
So I head out, take a significant walk along the side of the building until I reach the front parking lot…I glance out into it…
And it was…a new sun in our solar system. My mind just rebooted.
I walked over and stood next to it- just that car and me. Nothing else in the world existed.
And I knew at that moment, “I get it.”
If the human male in it’s natural state, unpolluted by indoctrination of any time or place, comes upon a Lamborghini- the most natural response…is to want to eat it.
I wanted to suck on that thing like a lollipop.
I felt in my mind as if I was shrinking down- and as you see on whales or big fish those smaller fish hanging on, Remoras- I pictured myself a Remora- attached with a few other guys hanging on this Lamborghini as it rode across the country.
I thought about what if life was handed to me and I could just write my ticket.
Well- I’d get a Lamborghini, and a bench. You wake up in the morning, and you just go out and sit on that bench and look at your Lamborghini.
What is it like to be so beyond competition? Nobody says, “Yeah…well my car has… Never mind. I’ve got nothing.”
I was so hit with this thing I went back in the office, and I searched on the computer- used Lamborghinis. Then- just used Lamborghini tires, used Lamborghini replacement bulb for the glove box.
My drive home wasn’t much of an adventure.
