21ST OF NOVEMBER

Is he obsessed by November? you may well ask,well maybe I am
.I was born on a cold stormy night between 11 and 12
midnight on November21st 1958 in Mary field hospital in
Dundee.Built on a site where in medieval times people had
built a shrine to th Virgin Mary.November always brought a
comforting secure feel and the celebration of my birthday
so close to Christmas was always an event to look forward
to and which heralded the start of the coming of Advent and
Christmas itself ,just over a month away.The dark cold
nights in the well kept streets of Broughty Ferry and the
calmn of the night sky over the River Tay as I walked home
on my birthday after school to find my presents and the
iced ginger bread and clooutie dumpling baked by mum on the
special occassion.I was born on a date that saw leaders
rise and fall .JFK was assasinated within 24 hours of the
day in 1963.Franco died on the 20th in 1975,King Juan
Carlos succceeded to the throne on the 21st in 75.The Queen
and Prince Philip were married ON THE 20TH IN 47.
A bug kept me indoors this year on the 21st and so I
had no celebration. The flashing lights of dim industrial
estates that illuminate bricks,corrigated iron hangers as
the morning rush hour train plunges into Leeds. Somewhere
high above a deep navy shade of blue is waiting and
silluettes come to life in the dawn of another Novembers
day.we look towards the end of the year. My birthday fades
into insignificance and us Scorpios go back to our daily
chores
Those I have met born on the same day were always rather
serious and heavy who as true Scorpios were nice but kept a
sting in their tale.What does the 21st of November mean to you?
