Sisters

My wife asked me to make a shadowbox that she can give to her sister. This is the poem I wrote to be used in it.

Sisters

So many years behind us now
Since we both lived at home
You are raising up your children
And both of mine are grown

Our lives are always changing
As I’m sure you would agree
But time can never change the fact
That sisters we will always be

The bond between us sister
Is one that can’t be torn apart
Though many miles lie between us
We are always close at heart

This bond that is between us
Has been placed here by design
On the day that God made sisters
I’m so glad he made you mine.

Yes, there is a bond that can never be broken and It sure is painful when one is no longer able to share that joy of being able to communicate with that loved one.
