A fairy falls in love with a human girl and finds a way to become human for just one day, but there is is a tragic price to pay.

I came to thee in human form,
vibrant, gay, alive.
Thou could not know how raged the storm,
the way I must survive.

Thine eyes beheld a handsome man,
tall and strong and bold.
How warm my tears that ran and ran,
how cold my heart; so cold.

Thou fell for me, how could thee not,
fine looks, sharp wit, and charm.
Thou could not know what thou begot,
why I bestowed such harm.

A faery I, mosquito size,
the day thou walked the wood.
Barely seen by human eyes,
but see thee, oh! I could.

Such beauty never was beheld,
by human, sprite, nor beast.
My love will never now be quelled,
until my life has ceased.

On vibrant wings flew I that day,
thy beauty to discover.
Please take this heart, throw it away,
just makest me thy lover.

So close flew I to touch thy cheek,
so pure, so sweet thy smell.
Thy velvet skin so soft, so sleek,
o'er me thou cast a spell.

An insect small, is all thee spy,
thou dost swat me away.
"Deny me not, now hear my cry,
thy'll love me yet, this day."

Then goest I, for I must find,
a Magi ancient...wise.
from faery form, to humankind,
a way he must devise.

I find the one but loath is he,
to conjure such a spell.
"Oh Magi if I can't have she,
then toll for me death's bell."

"A warning then to thee I send",
so spakest the one.
"A faery lifetime reach it's end,
when a human day is done."

"Then make me human for one day,
tall, handsome, bold and strong.
My faery life must end this day,
but let the day be long."

On sight we fell in love, the way,
that humans oft' will do.
We laughed, we romped like lambs at play,
the time so quickly flew.

Daylight quickly lost its glow,
we sank down to the ground.
Our body's secrets, we must know,
thy lips with mine I found.

Our nakedness becomes as one,
our bodies we explore.
"Oh Magi! let this day go on,
don't take me , I implore."

then daylight come not long I fear,
soon with my life, I'll pay.
"But Magi let her memory clear,
and forget; to thee I pray."

A flash...Thee startled, to thy knees,
thine eyes darting around.
Around thee nothing but dark trees,
"I'm here, down on the ground."

I call, my tiny voice is weak,
but thou can't hear a sound.
To human ears, less than a squeak,
silence all around.

Thou call to me my human name,
thy voice holds such despair.
My heart is heavy with the shame,
thou art wounded; so unfair.

Thine eyes hold fear, thy fears voice doubt,
that I have done thee true .
My tiny ears doth hear thee shout,
"where are you? Where...are you?"

Thy broken heart will never heal,
thy memory serves thee well.
For I, soon death's bell's solemn peal,
for thee; a living hell.

I hear thou sobbing, fade away,
back from whence thee came.
I knew thee for one wondrous day,
the joy, the love......the shame.

my eyes grow dim, my head doth rage,
my mind it falls apart.
Die if not I, from olden age,
then from a broken heart.

The one I loved has gone away,
no more to live the lie.
I loved and lost her in one day,
farewell sweet love....I die.
