The wet odor of the soil
Coming gently from the far distance
Carried my memories where my beautiful barn dances
To the tune of rain drops

I was thrilled to know the arrival of monsoon
But was different than I could all think of
The cloudburst into tears
And I was afraid there were certain fears

The cold breeze along with the rain showers
Made the trees intoxicated
Sang mysterious songs with great power
No animals or birds seen in the farm
Except the thunderbird,
And the stokes of flash
That made the entire farm calm

The dark clouds became furious
And it rained for hours
Making the entire village curious
Would the living-non living all be spared?

It was water spread all around
Like an evil rumor  
And nothing but the enchantment of water
That drowned the entire locale
That was an unnatural clamor

At last, the clouds wiped out their eyes
Smiled the rays of the sun
To call the birds sing again twice
In a melodious new song surprised!
