It was early morning on Father’s day
Master was in high gear
He was firing up the smoker
And thinking about some beer
We muttlies bought him “Blue Moon”
To guide him through his day
Of smoking up a full size ham
Beer wages was his pay
The ham smoke started wafting in
It wasn’t half past noon
We noticed that the fridge door opened
It was the first phase of the Blue Moon
Then he fired up the kitchen stove
For sausage marinara sauce
Our noses were tested on two fronts
We knew why our master was boss
He sat himself down on the back porch
And strummed our house a tune
We were all now well on our way
To the second phase of the Blue moon
And then he got some phone calls
On this happy Father’s day in June
And the ham just kept smoking away
For the third phase of the Blue moon
Then came Tiger baseball
Where they actually beat Milwaukee
The Moon’s fourth phase was clearly stirred
He was feeling unusually cocky
So he boiled up some sweet corn
And tossed a few salad greens
Then carved off juicy ham slices
For our Father’s day cuisine
The Moon’s phase numbered five
And doggies got a treat
He became a bit less vigilant
And forgot to cover the meat
We really like our master’s ham
It ranks high among our picks
And he really made it easy
When the Moon’s phase got to six
And then he watched the US Open
While Mudder did the dishes
We can think of nothing more
That would exceed our wildest wishes
He nodded off after a hard day’s work
Toiling through his cooking mazes
We only ask did our astronomy fail us
We thought the moon has only four phases
Love, Weter and Pork Pie
Regis
Cheers,
Dan
When the Moon’s phase got to six
Sounds to me like you two now know what to get him for every holiday and his birthday!
