When from the dark sky chilled rains flow
While stiff cold winds huff and blow
As dew point washes falling snow
And converts it all to ice below
As branches groan with weight’s despair
And power lines snap through crackling air
Roads no longer thoroughfare
The children slide without a care
No school today no school tomorrow
No school all week feigning sorrow
Ice Gods stopped to say hello
To paint the trees like old van Gough
With crystal limbs that glow at night
And leave the forest dazzling bright
That frame the deer considering flight
Ok it’s plastic please be polite

Got to watch those icicles, they can be deadly. My Daddy once was sitting in the kitchen, in Ohio, talking to me on the phone in Texas? All of a sudden, I hear this horrible CRASH!ing sound and then, thump, thump, thump ... after a beat or two of silence, Daddy said, 'I've still got the moves, Baby, I've still got the moves.' I'm like, what the?!?? An icicle on the top of his house fell and went through the metal awning over the porch - the CRASH!ing sound. And the thump, thump, thump? Daddy sliding down the basement stairs on his belly. LOL! He'd been in Korea, guess he thought someone was shooting at him. LOL!
Well done, enjoyed this one. Stay warm, 'hear? 19 degrees here in BRRRleson, TX.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
