Reading the Sunday morning funnies My Muse is gnawing on my ear You’re lazy and all you write is crap You’ve lost your way I fear What happened to the freshness To the lunacy of your past I just think you’ve gotten soft This poem could be your last Then Danny Donkey Disagreed And Dilbert spoke his mind Snoopy growled in discontent Mr. Muse you’ve been unkind Then Doonesbury grabbed a bat And then a pitchfork too Big Nate started gathering rope And Cathy knew what to do With burning torches in the night They marched on Frankenstein Carted him to my back yard tree To string him up with twine The muse stood there in silence And shook his head in vain As the rope began to tighten His neck began to strain And as his eyes began to fade I cut him from the tree Despite his insubordination his loss Would have a profound effect on me Copyright 2010 Patrick Granfors

Can't live with 'em... can't live without 'em... The power struggle is endless but the humorists capture it well in cartoon form, as do you who, in this poem at least, has served your come-uppance! Sunday not Funday for the muse, but at least Monday will never be Mundane! Love the visuals in this, Patrick. xx

I think we should start a service that would be good news,
To help those that have temporarily lost their muse,
Or so they think they have, for a new one we could give them clues,
Then we could charge them big money for the help,
And you and I could live off that money, neven again would we lose...ed

Patrick, I think your true muse is a she, not a he and I don't think she'd ever call your lunacy "crap," or your crap "lunacy." This was nicely conceived, no matter what prompted it.
