Rooster's Karma

Dark Humor for Mr. Ed who will appreciate this true story today from Tulare, California.

A 35 year old man has died from a stab wound to his left calf "accidentally" inflicted by a rooster at an illegal cockfight. The bird had a knife attached to its leg in preparation for a fight with another bird when the "accident" occurred. Lots of morals to this story. No word yet from the DA about possible charges filed against the rooster.

Poem Artwork

Cock Ring Super Bowl

Premeditated fowl play

Bad Karma’s revenge

Prosecute the bird

For ignorance of the law

Is not an excuse

Double jeopardy

Trial by jury of peers

Birds of a feather

Classic trial tactic

Cop an insanity plea

No self defense here

Bird brain rhetoric

The Devil made me do it

And who will argue

That rooster had true grit. The way people treat animals, it serves him right.

now that Rooster is one very serious spiritual messenger!!
I must say too, I fan with John Flanagan & all.
But this is interesting as I wonder during the attack of the rooster
what the rest of the ring audience was doing & seems they may
have just watched? Just Desserts

Kool writing, Patrick....and very funny too. I think that man got what he deserved! The inhumanity of some humans never ceases to amaze me....

As it turns out, it was the guy that owns the rooster so, one might say, the rooster bit the leg of the guy that fights him. Rather poetic justice, I'd say.

Mr. Ed does appreciate the irony here in Rooster's Karma. Only we human animals take pleasure in inflicting pain on other animals, and very rarely are the tables turned.

PS: Besides left behind cats and dogs, I helped 'round up' a few left behind fighting cocks down in New Orleans after Katrina - and these birds were something else - Pit Bulls seemed like Cuddly Kittens compared to these guys.

I think I've been “tokin,” or something.... I must be stoned.... This really does actually make sense to me.... Perfect sense!!! REALLY!!! I MUST BE STONED!!!! What else could it be?

Patrick, I loved this, but even you have to admit, it's a little weird, coming from you. (different, maybe?) BRAVO!!!!

Thanks though, Dick
