Pink Pumas

Pasadena California has the Rose Bowl for its amusement. South Pasadena apparently has, well, everything else. Firefighters there last night were called to rescue a drunk, unnamed, 41 year old man who had been treed by a pack of pumas that was chasing him. They set up a ladder for him and he climbed down. It turns out the pumas were imaginary. Lucky for him, pumas climb trees a whole lot better than people.

I just cannot resist true stories like these.

To John Lennon's "Imagine"

Poem Artwork

Imagine there’s no Pumas

It’s easy if you try

No hangovers either

When your county’s dry

Imagine all the people

Crossing county lines

Imagine there’s no curfew

Drinking all night long

Listening to the catcalls

Of the city’s jungle song

Imagine all the people

With headaches today

You may say I’m a drinker

But I’m not the only one

I hope that you can post my bail

So tonight I can have more fun

Imagine no perspective

I wonder if you can

Pink elephants and pumas

Wandering down the street with man

Imagine all the people

Walking paw in paw

You may say I’m a drinker

But I’m not the only one

I hope that you can post my bail

So tonight I can have more fun

If I were a thinker, you wouldn't have to pun. What we have here, is another example of your endless imagination. I can just imagine what you are up to next.

this is delightful patrick, brilliant song-piece, can hear it all now and the words are perfectly set to the melody. home-slice may have overshot the mark and can no longer "drink like a gentleman" it seems.

Let's see, maybe Disney can do a sequel to Dumbo with Pasadena's pink pumas as opposed to flying pink elephants. Hey, I been to South Pasadena and ain't seen no stinkin' pink pumas... Hmmm, maybe with a coupla more strawberry Margaritas?

Did I hear you right? DRY COUNTY???? Now just who in hell, in their right mind, would ever willingly live there?

My sweetie tried to tell me that she was raised in a dry county and I thought she was imagining it. Now, to me, that's where the imagine part comes in. Enjoyable read, Patrick.

Thanks Dick
