Mooning Harold Camping

Harold Camping has revised his doomsday calculations again. He now says that Rapture will occur on October 21, 2011 instead of May 21, 2011. It just so happens that there is a rare Harvest Moon this year on September 12, 2011. I’m wondering if he shouldn’t rethink his recalculations; that date makes so much more sense to me. I do note that the Mayan’s “end of days” prediction of the winter solstice date occurring on December 21, 2012, introduces the number 21 for a 3rd time. One bad thing comes in threes??? I need to consult my local numerologist.

Poem Artwork

World rapture delayed once again

On the twenty first of May it seems

God was too busy playing pinball

To loose all his earthly extremes

He’s put a hold on the earthquakes

He has to finish a replay or two

What seems like just a few minutes to God

Is like months to me and you

Harold revised his old calculations

Playing music while crunching the new

Instead of listening to old Neil Young

‘Twas Pinball Wizard by “The Who”

So now we’ve got a new deadline

October twenty first is apparently the day

That the earth will begin to tremble

That the mountains will begin to sway

He should have talked to Neil and the Pagans

In September we have Harvest Moon

The twelfth of that month would be perfect

To consolidate old Harold’s rune

I think I'll stick with the Mayans, they were pretty damned smart; and they didn't even stick around until the end, they checked out early.

Here I thought I could stop paying my bills, now I will be paying them late. So much for the Rapture...

Be always safe,

"To consolidate old Harold’s rune"

And if any of us were smart,
Maybe we should just play our own tune,
I few from deep within, powerful burps,
And then from even deeper, one big cresendo fart...;-) e

A lively look at a pretty crafty doomsayer. He not only gets his 15 min. of fame, he gets it over and over again. Each time the crowd grows larger.

Me? I already wrote about 12-21-2012. And, since it's my 70th birthday, will just crawl into a hole and act like a fool for about 5 min. into the whole damn thing blows over and I'll raise my glass the power of numerology to keep people stupid.

Another one of your timely pokes at the balloon.

And October 21 will come and go and I expect we still will be here. Scripture is quite clear: NO ONE knows the day and to attempt to fix it is akin to divination.

Giggle....It's hard to believe Harold Camping actually has followers! People must really be desperate for something to believe in! Of course throughout human history, kooks have had plenty of followers...I guess nothing's changed...giggle...

I appreciate your wit and humor and the meaning behind it all, Patrick. Thank you. By the way, I am a "2" in numerology. I am sure that explains a lot. ☻ Love and peace,

The Center for Disease Control has posted emergency preparedness for Zombie attacks. Not only that- their servers were knocked out by all the traffic.
There is a catastrophic failure of reason going on.
I share that in case you are wondering what to write about next.
Good job on Camping.
