Sometimes I am…….

Poem Artwork

Ornery lazy yessiree

An apt description today of me

Been this way about two weeks

Chair is married to my cheeks

Gravity’s won this tug of war

My feet reclining off the floor

Remote control is very near

If only it could fetch my beer

Random words that make no sense

My only offer in defense

For no reviews or even reads

Ignoring all my muses pleads

There’ll come a point where I’ll get bored

And turn my pen back into sword

And slay the dragons once again

Returning victorious to the Den

Boy don't I know it. Still some special sporting soul will come by and visit anyway, even without an incident being reported on the news first.

Chill and relax. You've earned it.

I fear you've come down with 'Jersey Devil Itis.' Some members of the old Ed Family Clan fall victim to this every so often. Of course, dear old Ma Ed named this malady after you know who in Jersey who has had it for many years.

Thankfully, I manage to fight it off with pet rescues, treks to the woods, and a constantly nagging wife!

Such a sorry old fart,
Sitting where your ass does part,
Probably being served by your better half,
Better be careful as she might hurt you with her own sword & staff...Jurseeeeeeeeeeeey

Like they say, use it or lose it, Patrick. Haha Don't get too used to that chair and remote, a little walk around the block will help get that old blood to pumping ideas into your brain.

I know how you feel. I had knee surgery 0n 2/14 and that gave me an excuse to lay or sit on my ass for three weeks. Kind of a rough excuse for laying or sitting on my ass, but it had to be done. As always, my desert dwelling friend, very clever poem.

The Wholly Book of Genesis by Jay Dubya

The Wholly Book of Genesis is a humorous satire on the first book of the Old Testament where the Story of Creation, the building of Noah's Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah and the families of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are thoroughly spoofed and broadsided.
