More Lyrics:

After finishing up 2 straight months of sleep deprived, mind crushing effort on a project proposal that literally sapped every ounce of creativity out me, and put my muse in a coma, I finally caught a break. Last Friday Eileen & I went to Las Vegas to chill out for the weekend. We celebrated our 23rd anniversary and participated in a Jimmy Buffett concert. No, we weren’t on stage, but his concert’s audiences get very involved including costume. Stress relief is an amazing thing. Best of all, now I get to come out and play at the Den again.

Poem Artwork

I've sailed across the ocean, searching for my life

Through the trough and the swell, the cold blasts from hell

I met the devil and had his wife

They were just dreams

Not reality it seems

Steering by Constellation, moon behind the wheel

The shadows it cast, exposed my shadowy past

Now safe harbors have lost their appeal

They were just dreams

Not reality it seems

Mermaid’s daughters will tell you, how they really feel

But let the captain discover, that you’ve been their lover

And you’ll soon be riding the keel

They were just dreams

Not reality it seems

A buccaneer’s reputation, is determined by social rule

Steal a shipmate’s doubloons, and you’ll end up marooned

On a desert island where life will be cruel

They aren’t just dreams

Could be reality it seems

My main sail is set for distance, trim is set for speed

Now is the time for margaritas with lime

Living your life by the Pirate’s creed

Follow your dreams

They make reality it seems

Welcome back, Patrick; and thank you for sharing your wit and humor once again. Love and peace,

Just another old-fashioned pirate song (mimicking the Beatles). Jimmy Buffett will do that to you. Having written a number of companies proposals myself, I sympathize. I certainly hope you get the contract for all your effort. I was wondering why you didn't post, but I've been involved in doing reviews and it certainly saps my time for writing. Anyway, it's good to see you're back (especially when you take off your pirate shirt).

Nice to see you back, old Pirate Cuz. Nothing better than a trip to Vegas and a Jimmy Buffett concert to brighten things up. And Happy Anniversary.

Ah, yeah, love those margaritas with lime, to say nothing of finding how mermaids really feel... Uh, I've often thought about that. Topside's okay, but below the navel they've really got to feel, uh, kind'a fishy, and maybe smell that way, too.
Glad you're back my ol' desert dwelling pal.

Yep, indeed and I hear you. As long as you maintain dreams, you never grow old. Your body might, but the inner you will not.
