This is a poem I wrote on a 100 mile trek to view Everest in Nepal's Himalayas.
Mordor on a moody moonlit midnight
Disney on a delicious daylight dawn
Lunar landscape all day long
high above the lush rainforest song
just some of the sights in the Sagarmatha Himalayas
Sun lighting grey and ochre rock
into shiny cathedral window stock
Turquoise lakes turn blue or green
or sometimes colours in-between

Pyramid mountain tops and fairytale pillars
snow rock resembling silverback gorillas
Jade rivers snake along valley floors
emerald rice terraces rise up steep tors
just some of the shapes in the Sagarmatha Himalayas
