I doubt very much

that you will believe

about my improbable shoelace.

No do not walk away

listen to what I say

improbality has its exceptions.

You see when I wear these shoes,

and none other I assure you

the left shoes lace always comes undone

no matter how or what way the knot is tied

the silly thing is it

falls either side.

Double knots

bows and whatever

I have tried them all with little hope

of the knots staying together.

Always the left

and never the right,

how many times do think

that I have been told

your lace is undone

mind you dont fall.

In the end I had no choice

gave up the laces

though slip ons would cause me

to rejoice.

But now believe it or no

left slip on falls off

every now and then

lost in shops

and on the train.

Now this aint funny

so hey there dont laugh

I'm going barefoot

from now on.
