A dog on a lead

seems just about right,

you know it does not

confuse your mind

what is in your sight.

Yet am I odd

have I not lived

why did I disbelieve

what I saw

I know I did.

There on a beach

a women hand on a lead

their tethered she had

a cat indeed,

seemed quite happy

quite unaffected

looked at me as if I were

well demented.

Then when I spoke to a friend of mine

he exclaimed

well what about mine?

'We had a lamb

that grew big you see

and yes he said

he took it for walks

thethered to a lead.

So why do I find it

somewhere not right

to steal from the dog

that heritage of right,

The lead of honor

surely is to the dog,

or are you going to tell me

of others gone wrong?
