CATS - John Townsend

Of all creatures, Cats have to be the one to take the 'biscuit.'

Maybe they come

from a distant world

even the Egyptians

knew them very well.

These feline fur balls

strutting around

like they own the place,

oh they do purr

sometimes quite loud

so you pat them on the head

they Hiss aloud.

Such rude behaviour

even to their kith and kin

as they pass each other sideways

their tails flaying about,

then they let out

an almighty shout

as if hell hath broken through.

A screaming battle of miaows

dominates the residential surround,

bins go flying crashing to the ground

everyone knows

the cats are around.

Then pure silence

one struts through a door

settles into

his favourite chair,

several times they up and move

circle around and around

a ritualistic groove,

then once settled

they sleep for hours

these feline nerds

from a distant land.

Excellent thoughts about our furry feline friends!
My Sammy Boy talks to me all the day.
He is spoiled rotten and yes,I like him that way.
He is the boy I never go to raise from a kid.
We picked him up at an Animal shelter and I am glad we did!

I have a cat,
she doesn't come when I call,
and there's nothing quite like,
stepping on a fresh hairball.
