tinka, i know what you mean about the poets being your lifeline but there has to me more in our life's than poetry and i'm sure you will find that more if you keep looking. don't give up that is the worse thing to do. i don't know your situation obviously but i sure don't think you are an asshole

please don't be so rough on yourself, you are surviving, and the reason you feel more aware is because you saw options to your situation....that makes you more fragile, but at the same time brave, and that starts you thinking, and thinking starts action, and action starts life, and even a-holes are part of the human process....

I've been out of action for a while and have missed the poetry of my AD peers. I'm glad to see you're still in action but I have to disagree with you here. You are NOT an asshole. You're a precious human being who craves love. That is not wrong. I thank God you have your poetry to express your pain and hurt but also your desire. My your desires be filled. My prayers are with you.

Perhaps you might consider yourself foolish and at times perhaps even think of yourself as an idiot to put up with what you do, but the term "asshole" really doesn't apply here. To be totally honest, Tinka, I could not put up with the abuse that you do and I would have been out of there long ago, no matter where that led me. I would rather be flipping burgers at McDonald's and living in a one-room shack than to put up with what you do, but that is me. We all make choices in life and often we have a difficult time understanding why some people make the choices that they do. I cannot and will not judge you, since I don't walk in your shoes. The choices that you make are not about me they are about you. It is up to me to decide if I wish to be your friend and accept you as you are or walk away because I cannot accept the choices you have made in your life. One thing is for certain; you will never hear me referring to you as an "Asshole".
