Three Kings

On A Journey
I was accomapied
By two friends of royalty
With Kingdoms of their own
Bordering nations of My Kingdom
On a clear cold night
We stopped to rest
Our weary bodies, to eat
And seek warmth
awaiting the arrival
Of tomorrow's sun
The dark velvet heavens
Sparkled with millions of stars
One bright star
stood out more pronounced
Her tail twinked downward
Almost touching the ground.
~*~

It attracked our attention
Until we fell asleep
Mysteriously
At the same moment.
An Angel appeared to me
Within a dream
Said onto me
"The Child was borned"
On this Silent Night
Follow that bright star.
I woke my royal companions
Repeated the Angel's message
Without questions
We packed our camels
Proceeded to follow
the bright star
Which led us, to a barn
Sleeping peacefully
In a straw filled manger
Laid "The Child"
We came to honor
~*~

I placed by his feet
A gift of gold
That was purchased
For my wife and daughters
The other Kings offered
Gifts of aromatic incense
And sparkling jewels
With feeling of cleansed souls
We departed taking secret routes
On our return trip
To our beloved Kingdoms.

This is a piece of the story I had not heard before, I never knew/or had forgotten how the wisemen came to follow the star. This is a wonderful poem, William. I love it and will be saving it to my library. Thank you. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Take care,
Sherry
