I love feathers, they are ticklish things, they’re soft and smooth and such joy they bring.
They can bring a smile or change a mood, create laughter... or share something good.
They can lighten heartache, dry a tear, calm the restless; last for years.
They’re light as air and float smoothly too, stuff a pillow, make a mattress for you.
They come in colours; all sizes will do, you’ll find them in pink, in yellow and blue...
Feathers are soft, they are light to the touch; Fill you with mushy feelings, make you all gooey and such.
Feather’s can be beautiful They are gentle gifts that you can share; you can put them on your clothing, or wear them in your hair.
You can hang them from a wind chime, or a dreamcatcher above your head... So you’ll rest and sleep so peacefully with beautiful feathers that make up your bed.
You will lay your head ‘pon your pillow, made of goose down so sighingly soft. Sweet dreams, dear one, as above you adorns a dreamcatcher filled with God’s love.
I LOVE feathers!! I have studied them for my writing projects. The primary flight feathers intrigue me, and then the contour, and then the downy ones which insulate. I love feather boas. I write with a feather-quill pen I made dipped in India ink. There is quite a heartfelt story of a damaged loon from an oil spill in my novel The Buckskin Skirt Oar Traveler. And I learned from studying the flamingo that their feathers are pink because of their algae-based diet. Yes, a lot can be learned from feathers. They are dynamically spiritual!
