Fresh Air

Locked in this mental prison
For way too long
Man came to my door with his dance and his song
Asked if I wanted to tag along
Knew he must not be wrong
Out of this room
And down the hall
Out of this steel door
To see nature’s call
To get some fresh air
In this season called fall
Of course I said yes
I will take a chance
To get out of this collective personal world
And join humanity’s dance
Move my stiff body
And surrender my stance
Release my wild spirit
Render this stone trance
So the doors flew open
And I smelled the fresh air
Clean with a tint of cold
A light wind blew through my dirty dry hair
Once I got out all I could do was stare
At the beauty and awe, life without a care
How life’s lessons are so damn unfair?
All I really wanted is some natural fresh air!
