We storm the gates of wooden cell towers that dart the forest of the green maze
Stuck between time and space without a place to go except through the foggy haze
We learned so much since those carefree days when life was just a textbook gaze
And the teacher would write on the chalk board, and we would write in a lazy daze
Hiking and camping in a nature brainstorm across the sandy earth and on the open river
Waiting for the heavens above to share a word or two and speak their mind and deliver
Thank you so much for all the love and direction, and showing us the question-and-answer giver
I could still hear the silent trees and the cold New England nights would always make me shiver
Somewhere out in the fields of unbroken dreams the teacher is teaching, and the student is growing
The days are shorter, but the sun, moon, and Mars are dancing in the black cosmos and glowing
The water from the grey clouds in the heavy atmosphere where UFOs hide from the public are flowing
Wish I could tell you that book means nothing today when true colors of mass shooters are showing
Dedicated to Daniel K. Lincoln

You add that books no longer mean as much because we are learning more and more through experience and a constant flow of worldwide news sharing nearly everything, the good and the bad, but mostly the bad. We have to get back out into nature again to realize the good.
