People have to work at love and marriage; nothing is easy or free.

Tears, Molasses
Standing at the front door--
tears streaming, cascading--
watching you parade by
with another lady.
Our eyes meet; eye-to-eye
say, again, another good-bye.
You've got guts galore!
Someone new loves you
just like I use to.
Tears, molasses, heavy,
flood but, I'll make do.
Was it just HER or two
between me and you?
Molasses tears fall.
It's madness ...
pure madness, for us all.
Sent the children to bed.
They grew weary waiting
for you, too tired to cry.
You said it was me, I
couldn't recall quite why.
That, I know, is a lie!
Loved you as before!

Heartbreaking to love someone
and then they do this way..
I think love is over rated, or
to some love is just a word so often used
to get what they want.

So difficult to go through this kind of anguish. Love is sometimes anything but love, and hurts worse than any othr emotion.This poem is excellent Sandy,but so sad!
I don't know, Sandy. It seems to me that "love" should not have to be something you have to "work" at. There are jobs for that. I do appreciate your sentiments though. Love and best wishes,
