**To those in the Space Shuttle 2/1/03**

Seven angels flew into His arms today
as a proud nation fell on its' knees to pray.
They were our pride and joy--
space explorers--wise, brave.
Like angels streaking high,
they whizzed across the sky
unbound by earthly graves.

Seven angels flew, who knows the ‘how’ and ‘why’?
They’re ‘homeland security’ up in the sky.
America’s heroes
serving ‘up and beyond’
their pledges to mankind.
They were of the ‘right’ kind.
With each, we have a bond.

Seven angels flew into His arms today;
let us all fly our flags at half-mast this day.
Remember they’re chosen
but they wanted to fly.
Enduring such a sad fate,
they met at heaven’s gate . . .
let their mem’ries not die.

I salute seven pairs of wings . . . flying high . . .
watching America, protecting her skies.
