all the sugared
songs
i yearn to sing

the tuneful
rhythms
of my thoughts

the lilting cadence
of my heart

the swinging swagger
in my step

the caterwauling ragtime
tempo
in my nocturne
reveries

the measured
meter
in the words i wish
to write

she is
the music
in
my life
