Where is the man who crept into my heart,
The man with the kindness, that set him apart,
From others who only pretended to care.
The man with integrity, honest and fair.
Where is the man that I saw through these eyes,
Clouded with passion, blinded by lies,
From the lips of the man, who promised to share,
The best part of himself, that joined us as a pair.
Who is the stranger that sleeps next to me,
A shell of the man, that he vowed he would be.
Excluding my presents in all that he does,
A new modern version, of the man that he was.
Who is the man that I see every night,
In a chair, cross the room, by the dim candlelight.
Never hearing the sound of my voice when I speak,
Billie Holiday Blues play, while he’s fast asleep.
When will the long, lonely hours start to fade,
And the pain from believing, all those promises made,
By the man who tread lightly, over love never tried,
Never breaking the ground, never losing his stride.
Truly sad beautiful poem. It's always sad when love fades away.

Love your poem Bonnie.
Though sad in theme it tells so much truth that far too many can relate to.
