The last act is beseeching me, to places I’ve not been,
One more drop of blood before I’m free.
I'd always hoped I'd slip away, while napping on a swing,
But this saga isn't through with me, again, I play the lead...
Repeated dress rehearsal, overlooking lesson’s hand.
No champagne in the lounge, in this grand scheme.
The showmanship of Drama, reveled in my tragedies,
While Happiness gave up the part, for someone else's dreams.
Relentless Hope took center stage, filled with Aspirations,
But Grief had so much more for me in mind.
Snatching bits and pieces of a life not meant for joy,
A life designed to be, the learning kind...
I won't be making curtain calls, once the drape is closed,
No autograph or two before I leave.
Don't mourn for me and shed wild tears of sorrow,
A standing ovation will due... applaud for me.
Whatever waits for me, I'm not quite sure of,
There was no role for Fear in my life's play.
My willingness to chance, is lovingly embraced,
Should I travel to a heaven, or just simply blow away.
The beginning of the ending, is beginning,
No rehearsal... break a leg... turn down the lights...
My farewell performance, will be my very best,
After all... this is the last act of my life.
THE CLOSING LINES ARE OF PUREST POETICAL GOLD:
"Should I travel to a heaven, or simply blow away.
The beginning of the ending, is beginning,
No rehearsal… break a leg… turn down the lights…
My farewell performance, will be my very best,
After all… this is the last act of my life."
Thank You Sublime Poet!
