STORM BABY I
My heart soars
With the first faint drops of rain
That break the calm surface
Of the nearby pool
I wait
Flash of brilliance
Rumble of power
It has begun
Deafening now
Like many chairs dragged across the floor
The gods rearranging furniture again
Strobing light across a quaking sky
The party in the heavens continues
Whilst crystals fall like shattered chandeliers
Waterfalls of cleansing
New life regeneration growth
Washing away the grime
Of a thoughtless polluted world
Rivers of hope flowing over
Drought worn earth
And bitumen fields alike
Nature favours none and all
Cleanses inhumane humanity
And all forgiving creation alike
Each breaking dawn
Red with the promise of sun and life
A remembrance
Not of the black of storm and night
But of man’s darkest hour
Of his destructive nature
And how despite mankind
Nature restores the balance
With the might of rain
And gives again another day
For man to learn and change
I, born of storm
Element of water
Feel the renewing of my soul
And know
There is hope yet
For man
