An egret of the marshes
Has to take a dozen moves
To pick up a mouthful of food
And at least thirty steps or so
To get a clean drink,
But it does not seek
To be well nourished
In a coop. Although
Its spirit would there
Enjoy a royal abundance,
It does not consider
Such confinement
As good for its natural self.
