Wild Plums

Poem Artwork

I admire the courage

Of the wild plum trees

Whose reddish flowers

Burst out the border

Between the winter

And springtime

Before leaves

Swell in bud.

Why the rush?

To be in time for

Treating the world

With the sour-sweet

Fruitage produced by

The season of champions.
