As is well known, vestiges are the prints

Are they the shoes that produce them?

Ravens produce their young by hatching,

Fishes by the communication of their milt,

The small-waisted wasp by transformation,

While a pair of herons look at each other

With pupils that do not move, and hence

Impregnation takes place. The male insect

Emits its buzzing sound above in the air,

And the female responds from the air below,

And thus another impregnation takes place.

Some creatures are both male and female;

Actually, each individual breeds of itself.

One's primordial nature (because of DNA)

Cannot be altered; the conferred constitution

Cannot be changed; the march of the seasons

Cannot be arrested; the ways of Mother Nature

Cannot be stopped deliberately or otherwise.

On the contrary, if you get the ways of Nature,

For you, there is no effect that cannot be produced,

But if you miss it, there is no effect that can.

Long it is that I have not played my part

In harmony with these processes of changes.

But as I did not play my part in harmony

With such a sort of transformation, how could I

Transform myself, to say nothing of the other men?
