Looking at the world from the point of naturalness,

We see how it has lost the proper course, and how

The course which it takes only leads it further astray.

The human world and Nature, when they once

Came together, becoming thus lost to each other,

Still remain to be non-interacting. How could the men

Of Nature make themselves conspicuous in the world?

How could the human world rise to appreciation of Nature?

Since Nature has no means to make itself conspicuous

In the human world, and the world has no means of rising

To an appreciation of Nature, though the sagely men

May not keep themselves among the hills and forests,

Their virtue is hidden -- it is hidden but not because

They themselves seek to hide it; it is Nature that does it.
