There are the three terms: complete,

All-encompassing and the whole.

These terms are different, but the reality

Sought in them is the same, referring

To one and only essence called Nature.

Suppose we were to try to roam about

In the area of Nowhere -- when met there,

We might discuss about the subject

Without ever coming to an end.

Or suppose we were to be together

In the realm of Inaction -- should we say

That it was the Land of Purity? or Simplicity?

Or Indifference? or Harmony and Ease?

Who knows the way to determine it properly?

My argument would be aimless when we speak

Of fullness and emptiness, of withering and decay

Because Nature produces fullness and emptiness,

But is neither full nor empty; it produces withering

And decay, but is neither withered nor decayed.

It produces the root below and branches above,

But is neither root nor branch itself;

It produces accumulation and dispersion,

But is itself neither accumulated nor dispersed.
