His climbing up depends
On refinement of his heart;
Therefore, he dampens down
His fiery temper to remain afloat;
As a result, a true peace of mind
Comes along with his inner delight.
He who tries to gain the upper hand
And take full control all over the game,
Only in dreams can rise up the heavens
While the low-lying valley-stream
Without cease spurts from its spring
In the deep mountains beyond the clouds.
As a saying fairly goes, 'He who
Doesn't lose his roots endures long.'
Realizing himself through overcoming
All arising obstacles and hardships,
He is daily returning to his own source.
Otherwise, what's the destination of life?
