Allowing my muse to run away with me. This a sampling of monkey chatter expressed as it came to me for a recent challenge on 'Lasting Impressions'. Note the vacillation between rhymed portions and free verse. I wanted to post it as I wrote it but I did divide it up a bit to make it easier to read. I will spend time honing it later. Thanks for reading my work and encouraging me. It is much appreciated.

Unusual and thrilling composition, as your poem includes the rythms of Africa- it catches the atmosphere of southern Africa perfectly (I worked in Africa for many years)- certainly strikes a chord with me. Franz
Floods back my memories of the first time I set foot in Ghana.
But the last time was to celebrate my silver wedding.
I should turn some of my poetry back to Africa agaian.

This is enthralling and wholly captivating; it reaches deep in my soul and stirs emotions there. We've all become used to this kind of gift sharing from you dear Chanti. Much love. Regis
Chanti, I agree with Steve and Paul. This is such a vivid painting of a life I had only seen in magazines and movies. I have a friend who is in Africa right now, and has offered to take me with her, the next she goes there. Of course, I will accept (giggles). The only other country I have ever been in, outside the United States, is Canada, when I was in my pre-teens, and my uncle Bob lived in Detroit. We would go across the Detroit river into Windsor, Ontario. I have never been overseas. Chanti dear, I have always liked the way you write, and this is no exception...wait...yes it is...I don't just like this, I love this. I like to look at the stars and the moon. I have a pair of binoculars that when the moon is closest to the earth, I use them, and I can see the craters of the moon clearly. By the light of the silvery moon, twinkle, twinkle little star, we should never get too far from all of the beauty that surrounds us, either in the sky, or right here on our fabulous earth. Thnx for this very wonderful poem, Chanti dear. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie
Wow chuck, your muse is on a roll I can't wait for the finished product, there is so much here that conjures the images, sounds, smells and even taste of Africa...yes it certainly assails the senses. Excellent.
I have taken pride in writing this novel as so many people have the wrong impression on bikers because they dress in leather clothing which is to protect themselves in case of an accident. The majority of bikers are known Policemen, Firemen, Doctors,
Children will enjoy reading and hearing about the silly antics of a puppy still learning how to be a good listener. This story is about Riley, a cute, little, rescue puppy who gets into all sorts of predicaments.
