Blimey, a lady after me own heart, everyday I walk or cycle route 21.16 Mile) -being ex surrey lassie you should know of it- Crawley to East Grinstead 1855 ex railway line, now a walk/cycle track. I could not live without at least 25% of my time in solitude, with Gods golden acres, with out such space one will not only be suffocated but also lose themself to angst.... Eloquent as ever....

Oops, thanks for pointing out my error Jeff. It was a slip and I wouldn't have noticed it had you not pointed it out. It would, however, be an interesting analogy to have a volcano spew out larva (potential growth) wouldn't it? Still I changed it to read 'lava'

Thanks to all who have responded. I'm fortunate in that I'm allowed the space that I need to write when I want to.

Chanti, this is an excellent write. Just check that "larva" vs. "lava" error (insects in your coffee are not a good thing - lol).

And ALWAYS stand your ground, because personal / private space is an emotional and psychologial necessity. I also do that very same thing: take long walks and sometimes challenging hikes to clear my head, commune with nature, get my thoughts in order, start anew, etc.

You have expressed the need to write like I have never seen before and you did it well. To the writer, the true writer, whether it be poetry, short stories, novels or non-fiction, we MUST put our words down on paper or computer. To not do so would be like cleaving a part of our soul from us. Do we tend to become recluse at times and not give as much of ourselves to our spouces and friends? Yes. What is the answer to this dilemma? There is no answer. If you are a writer . . . You will write.

So true Chanti. We all need to know that the freedom to move and breathe life independently is not only a desire but a reguirement of life the at if threatened will destroy us in one way or the other. Well said Chanti.

It is often a difficult balance to maintain, Chanti. I have learned over the years that the best partner in life is one who has their own hobbies and passions and doesn't need for me to be involved in every thread of the fabric that makes up his world. Sharing is great but if we don't take time for ourselves, soon there will be little to share. Excellent and well stated poem.
