Raindrops fall from the somber grey sky,
supplying life supplements to mother earth,
precious water without it all would die,
moistening, cleansing mankind even in birth.
Sprinkles from heaven high above,
falls gently to the dry dusty soil,
quenching the thirst of the morning dove,
for without it death would take its toll.
Showers create pools of blue water below,
sustaining life for you, me, and all we know,
mighty rivers and streams, natures endless flow,
it’s magnificent beauty seen wherever we go.
Pouring rain cleanses the mortal spirit,
washing away the past as we grow old,
without the rain life would not have merit,
for it brings the warmth and even the cold.
Thundering storm raging through the night,
splashing, lasting, obstructing our view,
brings dawn’s early light, so radiant and bright,
for it is written with each rainbow starts a new.
